Having finally got a Diamond - great plans at the beginning of the year, followed by a cut in the budget meant that it is an old one, how old I don't know, but it does seem to work. I have yet to use it in anger! Is there such thing as an instruction manual, or have I got to scratch my head a bit? It's the rear tensioning I suppose, when I might have to alter it for different blades and that sort of info I thought I might need. Any pointers to this I would be grateful for.

When I bought my diamond it came with insructions in the form of printed A4 sheets, nothing fancy but it said all one needed to know, I imagine that J Woodward would be able to supply you with instructions but if not I am sure I could scan some of mine for you.

Thanks all - I appreciate your help. Next move is to clamp the saw down to my bench and have a good go! The sawdust is always useful in the garage.

Hi Harriet
Zachary Taylor's "Scroll Saw Bench Guide" (ISBN 0-8069-9139-9) features Diamond saws prominently. It's worth adding to your library.

Thanks Gill,
This book has slipped through the net, so have put it on the list. Been away for a week, so haven't had chance to reply before. Doug, I am about to send you an e-mail! Thanks in advance.

Hi Alan, I've been screwing the bench leg down (it was making a racket), and other things - and unfortunately I have now been (not unreasonably) sidetracked to the restoration of one of my loves - my '46 Jeep. So slow progress. But today have received a copy of the book Gill recommended, so will try and temper the two "hobbies" a bit better! I think it's like juggling with sand! As long as I don't get muddled as to what i should be welding I'll be OK!
