Hi there Doug has read you enquiry, sorry he has not been able to reply yet. He has has a slight computer crisis and I haven't been able to sort it yet for him, but he has promised to reply as soon as he gets up and running again. I do know normally the blade is set tensioned by feel, this should be a good PING sound although do not over do it, you will only suceed in breaking the blade. The spring tension at the rear is part of the safety mechanism to stop the arms flailing about if you do get a breakage. The motors obviously all have slight variations and speeds are specified by the manufacturer and as they are good quality I would expect the spped to be correct, as far as i know there has never been any issue on that count. I think Dad would be interested to know why you require HIGHER speed! Before he could answer you question in detail. As regards the balancing of a pound coin on the table, this is most certainly acheivable on any saw at full speed, the only time there is usually un-due vibration to cause this not be so has usually been the suitability of the stand/table/flooring used (i.e. the best workbench on a LIGHT woodfloor is still capable of bounce! Hope this helps until Doug can reply properly. These are my own findings not his! |
