Mine does come on automatically when the saw is switched on! Actually, I think the blower is one of the Diamond's great strong points, being independently powered so it works even when the saw is operating very slowly.
I asked Doug to overhaul the saw when I first bought it second-hand because it wasn't working. However, I don't believe he made any changes to the blower and I presume it's still in its original state (about 10 years old).
Easy mod to make. It can be wired as requested. Gill if you cant do it yourself, if you call Doug I bet he can do it for you relatively quickly and wont cost much at all if you can drop across with it.9Phone a couple of days ahead) I think I ought te re-name myself the customer Satisfaction dept ha ha! Only trouble is Dad has to do the work .....Double ha ha! He will kill me when he reads this! Smile Dad!
While i agree that the blower is a very important part of the process i believe that somewere along the line we may be missing the point of workshop safety Of the many scroll saws i have seen and some of the ones used i realy think that dust is a major problem and it is a well known fact that some woods provide a dust of very large carsonigic properties It is all very well saying too ourselves that wearing a mask overcomes this problem however i wonder does it???? The main reason for this post and what knowlege i can get on the diamond scroll saw i cannot assertain if it has a vacumn port or not as most saws both good and bad on the market today have provision for a vacumn take off If i am wrong on this issue please advise otherwise PS By what i can find out sofar regarding this saw i only wish they were available i Australia Regards To All REG
