I have a Diamond 19" variable that I bought many years ago from JD Woodward engineers, the machine is in regular use, the one major improvement that I would like to see is for some form of Quick tension release to be fitted, I also own a Hegner Multicut and it is much easier to do internal cuts with the Hegner because of the Quick tension release that is fitted, I find it very awkward struggling with the knurled nut fitted to my Diamond every time I have to adjust the tension when I insert the blade in another cut out hole, after a while it actually starts to hurt my fingers!
Even my old Hobbies A1 treadle machine has a tension cam fitted!

Hi ya, if you want Diamond do do a hanndle to replace the knurled nut, which can act as a quick tensioner, i beleive the system used is to simplify the useage of a MUCH larger blades than other machines. Give Doug a call at Diamond for details.

What!!! When was this introduced? I discussed this subject with Doug last year and he showed me a prototype he was working on, but I wasn't aware that anything had come of it yet. I presume we are talking about a new development? Details, Paul, details...
